New GWT stuff to play with

  • Sandy McArthur has created a gwt-stuff project on Google code which contains a few GWT components including a new GWT table component.
  • GWT TK is another library of GWT widgets with a nice demo.
  • Luciano Broussal’s GWT Window Manager provides a bunch of cool window components to create MDI (Multiple Document Interface) GWT apps.
  • Ed Burnette has published a new chapter on Internationalization in his book. It’s a free update to existing customers.

GWT goes open source

I’m a little late to the party, but the big news is that Google has open sourced GWT. Read the entire announcement on the GWT blog. With this news comes the GWT 1.3 Release Candidate which is unchanged from the 1.2 release except to make it easier for people to compile the code. They’ve also published a Making GWT Better guide which is an interesting read.

GWT 1.2 released

It was announced today on the GWT blog that the GWT 1.2 final has been released. There is also the interesting tidbit on the blog that Bruce Johnson and Joel Webber are in the process of writing a new GWT book published by Addison-Wesley which will provide an in depth look into GWT.
